Journalist Internship in a Local Radio

The Company: 

Our project has various components. We are simultaneously a web-broadcasting radio station, a website, and a multicultural community. The whole initiative was created to help people feel included, informed, and welcomed through our website, radio shows, and events. Our goal is to help people from all over the world unite through music, without barriers of borders, race, religion, or politics.

Job Summary: 

We are looking for passionate journalists to participate in the creative cycle of reporting by investigating and writing rich, unbiased stories. While many think of journalists as writers for print publications, today’s journalists must be tech-savvy and write not only for print but also for the web, on social media, take photos, film, and more. To survive and thrive in the field of journalism, you must be skilled and comfortable writing across all types of media.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

• Collect, verify, and analyse newsworthy information
• Gather findings to build a solid story
• Write and deliver reports with the reader’s perspective in mind
• Receive assignments or investigate new leads/tips
• Adhere to journalistic ethics and codes

Candidate Requirements:

No professional experience is required.

The ideal candidate must possess: an inquisitive mind; excellent written English and a concise writing style; the ability to earn the trust of all kinds of people; great precision in their statements and attention to detail; the ability to produce good work under pressure; the ability to handle rejection; perseverance and endurance; quick comprehension – journalists often need to write with authority on unfamiliar subjects; a knowledge of the law as it affects journalism.
